Good morning from Costa Rica!We arrived at CVG by 4:00 a.m. The plane ride to Atlanta was quick and easy. From Atlanta to San Jose we flew over many beautiful islands, and the water a sparkling teal color. We got picked up by our bus driver, Marvin. We got lunch and started on our way. On our way to Hacienda Baru we stopped and walked across a bridge with giant crocodiles underneath. The views were amazing! We then went to an overlook of the ocean. The water sparkled in the sunlight and the waves crashed against the jagged rocks. When we arrived at Hacienda Baru, we had a pool party! We then ate dinner. We had fish, rice, fried plantain, zucchini, salad, beans, and mango juice. Right now we are waiting for breakfast and we are excited for a super fun day! It was such an amazing start to a awesome week!! Adios Amigos!Clara and Katie
Three cheers for our bus driver, bus driver, bus driver. Three cheers for our bus driver, Marvin's our man! Thanks Marvin for keeping everyone safe!

ReplyDeleteHey Brochito,
ReplyDeleteHow's Costa Rica? I decided not to go to Florida. The snow here is not appealing. Have a great time and remember don't eat pepper plantains!!!

Hola Everyone!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear you are safe and sound in Costa Rica. Grace, did you sit in the back of the bus? (Remember what I told you.) Give Marvin and Gary a big hug for me. Isn't Hacienda Baru amazing? The tropical flowers are so beautiful. Did you go on nature hike? It's hard to imagine you guys splashing around in the pool when it's so cold here. I wish I was with you- miss my sweet Grace.
Love, Mrs. Doyle (Mama Suz)

Thanks for the great post Clara and Katie.
We can't wait to hear from each of you, every day with ALL the details of your exiting adventures:-)
Grace and Riley - Since you are so comfortable with large BUGS - you should be the leaders of the bug brigade. You can keep the cabinas free of those LARGE pests.
Liza -I hope you swam some laps last night in that big pool. You need to stay in shape for JO's!
Adaliene and Alexandra you better start hiking - this will be a good warm-up for your month long hike in Isle Royal this summer!
To the SMS Boys B-ball team - the SMS 6th grade A team oould have used some help today in the tournament . . .
1 and OUT!
AND to the rest of you kids (and adults) - you better get to bed early tonight, because those monkeys are going to start howling at sunrise!!!
And DON'T forget to shake out your shoes before you put them on in the morning! Dr. Hutchins may not have any scorpion vaccines:-(
Love you Rosie Tosie,
Mom
PS - Carolyn - you still need 8 size C batteries:-)(sorry)
