Zooming Zipline
Hello people back home! This morning we had delicious French toast and sausage. After that the people who were horseback riding and ziplining piled onto the bus and went our separate ways. The zipliners went to the starting point. There were 6 ziplines. It gradually got faster with cooler scenery. After 2 hours of ziplining, we ate at La Palma restaurant near the zipline course. After that, we went to the house and farm of the uncle of our tour guide, Adonis. We met up with the horseback riding group there. We played a game of soccer and then got in the pool. Liza bet everyone that she could eat 36 donuts in 2 hours. Then we went back to the Jungle Lodge and saw some capuchin monkeys. We ate lasagna and garlic bread. For dessert, we had ice cream sundaes. After dessert we had a prayer service on the beach. Half of the group went on a night hike and the other half stayed at the lodge and made rosaries.
Horseback Riding
Hola from Dr. Hutchins and Dr. Keiser’s group. We woke up to delicious French toast, sausage, and fresh fruit. Everyone enjoyed the breakfast made by Jackie. Next, we packed our bags and all piled into the bus. When we arrived at the horse farm, we were assigned to a horse and started the trip. We walked all along the hot trail. The views were beautiful! At the end of the trail, we galloped in laps around the farm. After finishing, Walter and his family made us lunch. We had rice with iguana, beans, vegetables, and our first American food- French fries! For dessert, we had ice cream. When all the food was gone, we relaxed and played soccer and chilled in the pool. Then we were greeted by our zip line friends and went to the town to get ice cream. Next, we all got back to the jungle lodge and relaxed for the rest of the day.
Hasta Luego!

Criking (Creek Hiking)
Hola! Today, Mr. Earls and Mrs. Mussman’s group went on the creek hike with Mr. Morgan and Jordan. The bus ride there was long but very fun. We arrived at a café and went off from there. We took a 5 minute hike to get to where the river started. It had tons of big and small rocks in it which made some parts difficult to walk in. On one part of the river, we all sat down under a waterfall and it felt like a massage chair. We did many team activities along the way. When we got to the first waterfall, everyone lined up to jump off of it. We all went 5 or 6 times. We also jumped off of a different waterfall and jumped backwards off of a bridge. It was very fun and we saw a sloth, blue morpho butterfly, poison dart frogs, and a tucan. We walked back to the café and ate quesadillas with either chicken or vegetables. We stayed there for awhile, played ping-pong, and then went back to the lodge.

Hey Michael!
ReplyDeleteLucky you to have lasagna for dinner! It's one of your favorites. I am sure it was delicious as everything tastes better at the Jungle Lodge. Is anyone drinking the coffee?
Gary has to be exhausted to be criking for three days in a row! Thanks to all the chaperones and everyone for taking care of our precious kids!
Peace-Laura
Hi Grace,
ReplyDeleteIt looks like everyone had another great day in CR! How about that creek hike? Not your very day kinda hike, but so worth it! You guys must have been very quiet (like me) to have seen so many animals. I'm so proud of the work everyone did at the school and with the garden, I'm sure it was hard work and really hot! (Pat yourselves on the back right now.) How about the Iguana Lodge??? So awesome! Speaking of awesome, how about Randy and Captain Morgan's culinary talent? If you could just bring me back some of that 5:30 am morning coffee. We all miss you Grace and things at the Doyle home are not the same without you. Miss you so much!
Lots of hugs, kisses, and love, MOM
Good morning, Jerry.
ReplyDeleteI am MORE than a little excited that you will be coming home in a couple of days. Ziplining in COSTA RICA!!! What a fantastic way to see what God creates from an entirely different perspective. Your dad saw a picture of Mr. Geeding & said "He looks more like Jerry than Jerry does!". Lucky, Mr. Geeding. Please make sure that camera of yours makes it out of the box. I anticipate spending some terrific time with you looking at pictures & listening to your stories. You are such a terrific story teller. Have you had a chance to do some of your impersonations for your friends?
(To whom it may concern: Jerry does a terrific Bear Grylls and an even better Heath Ledger as the Joker.)
I miss you like crazy - still. I could not be happier that you have been able to enjoy this fantastic adventure. I've noticed that you've been sporting a very stylish shirt/scarf around your neck. Very chic! I'm going to guess that you've had a sunburn issue. Life in the Jungle. I love you very much - & I know: you love me very much, too. <3 Mom
Hi Graceyn and Riley,
ReplyDeleteYou look so busy in the pictures posted today! We miss you tons here. Tate needs you back, there is way too much time for us to be checking his Option C. He keeps meaning to lose the password! I'm dying to know if Liza ate all 36 doughnuts? I bet you gave her a run for her money Riley! We are all so excited to see you in a couple of days! I cannot wait to hear all your stories!
We love you to the moon, the stars, and back...
XO, mom, dad, Tate and Olive
